El VPH son siglas que significan virus del papiloma humano, es una infecci\u00f3n de transmisi\u00f3n sexual, este virus puede ocasionar en el \u00e1rea genital lesiones de tipo condilomatosas o lesiones sobreelevadas en el \u00e1rea vulvar, anal, en vagina y cuello uterino. Pero en su forma m\u00e1s frecuente de infecci\u00f3n no suele presentar estas lesiones t\u00edpicas, ni s\u00edntomas; por eso siempre a todo nivel de salud se insiste en acudir a la consulta ginecol\u00f3gica de forma peri\u00f3dica.<\/p>\n

La principal v\u00eda de transmisi\u00f3n de la infecci\u00f3n del virus del papiloma humano son las relaciones sexuales orales, vaginales o anales, ya sea a trav\u00e9s de relaciones con penetraci\u00f3n o no, \u00bfQu\u00e9 quiero decir con esto? Por lo general pensamos que si no hay penetraci\u00f3n, no lo adquirimos, pero resulta que si hay alg\u00fan roce de piel +con piel durante un encuentro y una de las personas es portadora (sobre todo los hombres) puedes contraer el VPH y de esa forma presentar luego lesiones condilomatosas en el \u00e1rea externa de tus genitales. Otra forma de contagio que se puede describir es a trav\u00e9s de ropa interior o trajes de ba\u00f1o que se compartan en el momento y una de las personas tenga lesiones. Tambi\u00e9n puede haber una transmisi\u00f3n madre-feto, sobre todo en el momento del parto y si est\u00e1 activo el virus en ese momento, esto puede ocasionar lesiones lar\u00edngeas en los reci\u00e9n nacidos, como tambi\u00e9n pudiera ocasionar aparici\u00f3n de lesiones condilomatosas en los ni\u00f1os en sus primeros 5 a\u00f1os de vida.<\/p>\n
Las verrugas pueden tener diferentes or\u00edgenes, pero una de las preguntas m\u00e1s frecuentes es \u00bflos llamados cadillos tienen el mismo origen del VPH genital? El virus del papiloma humano presenta diferentes tipos, y unos producen el llamado cadillo, pero otros son serotipos que son transmitidos sexualmente y que pueden tener la capacidad de ocasionar c\u00e1ncer de cuello uterino en nuestras mujeres.<\/p>\n
Siempre les comento a mis pacientes que toda mujer que ha tenido c\u00e1ncer de cuello uterino se ha relacionado con la presencia del virus del papiloma humano (VPH), pero que no todas las mujeres que han presentado diagn\u00f3stico de VPH llegan a tener c\u00e1ncer de cuello uterino. \u00bfEsto depende de qu\u00e9? Del tipo de VPH, del estado inmunol\u00f3gico de la mujer, de su control peri\u00f3dico, de su estilo de vida (si tiene varias parejas, si su pareja a su vez tiene otras), alimentaci\u00f3n, antecedentes oncol\u00f3gicos, entre otros.<\/p>\n
Debemos tomar en cuenta que el C\u00e1ncer de cuello uterino es la segunda causa de muerte por c\u00e1ncer en nuestras mujeres y que, si est\u00e1 en nuestras manos evitarlo debemos ocuparnos y dejar de preocuparnos, sin realizar ning\u00fan tipo de acci\u00f3n. Tomate un tiempo para ti y tus chequeos, no cuesta nada.<\/p>\n
